Two things I've made you can buy
In a break from my normal solving of all the world’s problems, I’d like to tell you about two arty things I have made…
The first is The Awful Calendar
Now in its second year, The Awful Calendar was created as a contrast to the ambition of traditional calendars.
I wanted to make a calendar that honours the beautiful mundanity and occasional lacklustre nature of life. The intention isn’t to encourage these moments - it’s to laugh at them, so they're more acceptable if (and when) they do occur.
The design is minimal and somewhat awful. There is something about the total lack of vibrancy and colour that I think suits the theme. I wanted each month’s message to feel personal - like a diary entry.
The Awful Calendar is available worldwide and made from FSC/PESC-certified paper.
You can view all the month's designs here.
The second arty thing is…
A special envelope of 10 prints
They are from my series Anonymous Animal Haiku Confessions, which pairs animals with censored eyes and confessions written in a haiku format.
There are 42 designs in the series, here are a few of them:
I’ve been selling these every weekend during November at Brick Lane Market and they’ve had lovely responses.
HOWEVER, as there are 42 options (you can view them all here), I realised people were crippled by choice, so I created these envelopes that contain 10 random prints - which then became my best seller.
As the selection is random, they’re a bit like the sticker packs you used to buy when you were younger, only instead of bagging a Pikachu or David Ginola you can secure a lonely giraffe.
Each design is printed by Print.Work on 100% recycled material, certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. God I’m woke.
Only 20 envelopes are available and they should arrive before Christmas if you order soon.
